About Amanda
Beyond the camera
When I'm not behind a camera, you can find me hiking, camping, travelling or curled up with my four-legged sidekick Honey and a book on the couch. I love trying new restaurants or making different recipes, and I can't go a day without drinking an iced latte!
My passion for photography started in my childhood - I was always asking my parents for a disposable camera to capture school memories and family events, but I never started taking it seriously until a few years ago when I took the leap and purchased my first digital camera. I had always loved art, but drawing and painting was definitely not a talent or a skill I possessed - a camera in my hand always felt right.
I started out with pet photography - if you can't tell by now, I LOVE animals (and if you haven't guessed yet, my dog Honey was the inspiration behind the naming of Honey Bee Photography) - but a year into that I tried my hand at my first wedding, and the love of photographing people really stuck with me. When I'm holding a camera in my hand, it feels like I'm painting with light, and I'm grateful that I get to create that kind of art and magic with some pretty great couples and families.
If i had to describe myself in a snapshot:
A lover of cozy things | into sunsets | organized | morning paddles on calm lakes | fresh pasta | reading | travelling | long walks in nature | chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream | creative | any type of furry four-legged friend | sushi | kind | bonfires & smores | dresses over jeans | good friends | folk music | adventurous | honest
My approach for any wedding & milestone

I truly believe your wedding day (or any type of life moment worth capturing) should not feel like a photoshoot - it should be filled with laughter, love, hugs from friends and family, good food, with it all being intentionally captured. I guide wedding days & sessions with prompts, not poses, because no one ever enjoys being put in a stiff pose. I use a storytelling, documentary approach to bring out natural emotions and smiles, and I deliver high-resolution photos with an editing style that is timeless and polished. While I always love a good mood board or inspiration photos, I promise I'll always capture the moments you didn't even think you needed (and you may even shed a few happy tears while looking at them).

enough about me...
let's chat
about you!
You're someone that is looking to enjoy time with family and friends, while having gorgeous photos to reflect on those moments for years to come. You value communication and someone who is organized, who will guide you as much or as little as you need. When you look at your gallery, you want to remember the sounds of your parents laughing, the clinking of glasses after a speech, the feeling of holding hands with your partner, and the warmth of the sun on your face as you walk down the aisle.
In a snapshot, you value: communication, love, trust, being in the moment, organization, laughter, being surrounded by your friends and family, having memories to reminisce over
